Divya Bharti
One of the most popular actresses of the 90’s in Bollywood died a very mysterious death on the 5th of April 1993.
Though the official record says that she died because of falling from the balcony of her 5th floor apartment there is a lot of mystery around her death. There was news that her husband Sajid Nadiawala had underworld connections and Divya Bharati came to know about it. The case just died like her and the mystery is still unsolved.
Parveen Babi
She was one of the most popular Bollywood actresses of the 70’s and 80’s. Parveen was said to be depressed even during her affair with Mahesh Bhatt who also made a movie called Arth on their affair. She was found dead in her apartment in 2005 and the cause of her death was not confirmed. The police said that it may be because of her acute diabetic condition.
She was more of a mystery than just the enchanting looks. Loneliness is why many people think she died. She lived alone in Mumbai and had a lot of controversies surrounding her. Nobody still knows if her death was natural or a suicide!
Jiah Khan
Jiah was a British-American actress. She was found hanging in her Juhu apartment on June 3, 2013. Her family blamed her then-boyfriend Sooraj Pancholi for her death.
She had written a suicide letter before her death. The excerpts from her letter indicated that she had gone through a lot of physical torture and rape. Her six page long suicide letter blamed it all on her rocky relationship with Sooraj Pancholi. It was a tragic death of a young girl in Bollywood again.
The case was filed as a suicide. However, her family still insists it’s a murder.
Sridevi
The world stood shocked when this news came out.
Sridevi passed away in Dubai on the night of 24th February 2018 and at first, the reason for her death was told to be a cardiac arrest. Postmortem reports however confirmed that her death happened due to accidental drowning in the bathtub of her hotel room. However, the reports have recently claimed that there is more to her death. The reason is still not clear though.
Boney Kapoor received Rs. 240 Crore as the death insurance claim of Sridevi which raises a lot of questions on her death.
Viveka Babaji
Viveka Babaji became a successful face in the industry with her famous Kamasutra Condom commercials. She made her Bollywood debut with Yeh Kaisi Mohhabbat starring Deepak Tijori.
She was found hanging in her Mumbai apartment in the year 2010 with a suicide note saying, ‘You killed me, Gautam Vohra’ who was her then-boyfriend. He was later arrested in 2012 when the case was reopened.
Silk Smitha
Vijayalakshmi Vadlapati, popularly known as Silk Smitha was the sex siren of the South industry. The actress died in 1996 by committing suicide. It is said that her alcoholism, failed romances and dwindling finances made her take her own life.
Her story was also made into a film. Vidya Balan portrayed Silk Smitha in the blockbuster ‘The Dirty Picture’. Dirty Picture was inspired by the life of Silk Smitha and Vidya Balan played her character.
Nafisa Joseph
She was a popular video jockey and had just started her career in Bollywood. Nafisa was also the winner of Femina Miss India Universe 1997 and the finalist of Miss Universe 1997 pageant in Miami.
She was going to get married to a businessman named Gautam Khanduja – her long time boyfriend. However, this went bad, and after a spat with Khanduja, the actress committed suicide at her apartment in Mumbai in 2004.
However, the real reason for her death is still unknown to all!
