W orld leaders and politicians are notoriously composed, but when their dogs are around, they can't help but be a little smitten.

Leaders of different countries also have a four-legged secret weapon—a dog. Many leaders, like Vladimir Putin and Queen Elizabeth II , are known dog lovers and longtime owners. French President Emmanuel Macron is the first in the presidency's history to have a rescue dog and the president of Finland's beloved Boston terrier is now world-famous for his smile.

Massachusetts Senator -Elizabeth Warren

The Massachusetts Senator’s golden retriever hit the campaign trail with her last month when Warren introduced the “two guys” her life, Bailey and her husband Bruce.

Bailey is named after the Jimmy Stewart character in It's a Wonderful Life, which is a very Elizabeth Warren thing to do. Bailey is angling for a prime position in the Department of Boneland Security.

Finland's President - Sauli Niinisto

Finland's President Sauli Niinisto's dog, Lennu - and this smiling Boston terrier continues to steal the show.

The smiling pup has been a hit in his home country for some time, but Lennu found international fame in early 2017 after Daily Beast writer Kelly Weill, tweeted some hilarious pictures of him and Niinisto during a public appearance.

Irish President- Michael D. Higgins'

Irish President Michael D. Higgins and his wife, Sabina Coyne has two Bernese Mountain dogs.

The dogs are named as Brod (which means "pride" in Gaelic) and Sioda (which means "silk" in Gaelic). This furry duo got very, very excited when it came time to pose for a group photo.

US Former President - Barrack Obama

In 2009, Senator Edward M. Kennedy gave Obama Family a Portuguese water dog named Bo – which is a male and black-and-white in color- who died in 2017.

While Sunny-the dog came along in 2013.

Both the dogs have made several appearances throughout President Obama's terms in office, with Sunny gaining a reputation as the more mischievous of the two.

US President-Donald Trump

Donald Trump is the first president not to have a pet in the White House, since William McKinley over 100 years ago.

But daughter and White House adviser Ivanka Trump got herself a puppy named Winter for her eighth birthday. However, Winter won't live in the White House.

French President Emmanuel Macron

French President Emmanuel Macron welcomed a new addition to the Elysee Palace: a black labrador-griffon cross named Nemo.

President Macron's two-year-old black labrador-griffon cross, Nemo, is the first rescue dog in the French presidency's history.

Nemo has been making appearances greeting foreign dignitaries and frolicking the grounds of the Élysée Palace.

Russian Prime Minister - Vladimir Putin

Russian Prime Minister, Vladimir Putin is a well-known dog lover.

The best-known of the pack, Koni, was a black Labrador retriever , who died in 2014.

He has a second pup, a cream-colored Karakachan named Buffy , that was a gift from the Bulgarian prime minister in 2010 . In 2012, Putin got a female Akita puppy- Yume as a thank you gift for Russia's assistance during massive earthquake and tsunami.

In 2019, President of Serbia Aleksandar gifted a Sarplaninac puppy named Pasha .

UK Prime Minister - Boris Johnsons

The Prime Minister and his wife Carrie Symonds have adopted a 15-week-old puppy from an animal rescue charity in south Wales and he will live in the flat in Downing Street with the couple.

The newest resident of Downing Street is a Jack Russell-cross puppy, which was named Dilyn.

Queen of England- Elizabeth II

The Queen of England is a fan of corgis . She has two corgis named Willow and Holly and two dorgis named Candy and Vulcan .

Needless to say, the dogs live luxurious lives at the Palace. The Queen herself serves them meals and personally handles their housetraining.

Canadian Prime Minister- Justin Trudeau

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau adopted a Portuguese water dog back in April 2016, and the family named her Kenzie.

Most of us dog lovers already know why life is better with a dog. The canine-human relationship shows that owning a dog is actually good for you on both physical and emotional levels.

Even though most people think that we’re the ones taking care of our dogs, it’s actually mutual: They take care of us as well, and there’s real science to back it up.
