Despite, being the home to many incredibly beautiful places. Some of the real and natural beauty of India is pure and untouched. There are some places in India where you are not allowed to go without a permit. You need special permission to visit these places.

Aksai Chin, Jammu and Kashmir

Aksai Chin features on the top of the places you cannot visit. It is a ceasefire line, one that separates the Indian-controlled state of J&K from the Chinese-controlled area. It is one of the two large disputed border areas between India and China.

The line that separates Indian-administered areas of J&K from Aksai Chin is known as the Line of Actual Control (LAC) and is concurrent with the Chinese Aksai Chin claim line. The infamous LAC passes through the famous Pangong Tso Lake of Ladakh. It is also referred to as one of the most dangerous places in the world.

Do I need to say more about how beautiful this place is? It is one of the most mysterious places in India.

Bhangarh Fort, Rajasthan

Located in the Alwar district of Rajasthan, Bhangarh Fort is a 17th-century fort is famous all over India for being one of the most haunted places in the country because of the numerous ghostly experiences and happenings in the fort premises.

You can visit few areas of this fort in Day (under certain conditions) but permission to go in this fort after sunset is prohibited.

Nicobar Islands

Unlike the Andamans, the Nicobar Islands are untouched and pristine. UNESCO has declared the islands as one of the world network of biosphere reserves. The forests are lush and the beaches are surreal beyond explanation.

Visiting certain areas of the islands is possible if you are granted permission by the local authorities, but the tribal belts are completely out of bounds unless for research purposes, and even for that one will have to go through rigorous formalities.

While the Andaman Islands are a place of immense tourism, the Nicobar Islands lie shrouded in mystery and fascination to the Indian population.

Cholamu Lake, North Sikkim

Cholamu lake or Tso Lhamo lake is the highest lake in India . It is situated in North Sikkim, only some 4 kilometers southwest of the Chinese border. One needs special permission from the Army and Sikkim police/administration to visit the lake.

Siachen Glacier

The Siachen Glacier is the longest glacier located in the eastern Karakoram range in the Himalayas where the Line of Control between India and Pakistan ends. This is the highest military point in the world and normal people are not permitted to visit.

North Sentinel Island, Andaman

North Sentinel Island is a part of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. It is home to an indigenous tribe known as Sentinelese. It is the only place in the world with last uncontacted people.

It is said that they don’t have much knowledge about outside world and thus they don’t welcome outsiders. The tribal which belongs there don’t want any intruders on their Island. So, the Indian government makes efforts to ensure they’re left undisturbed.

The entry to this place is prohibited by the Indian Government.

Chambal River Basin, Madhya Pradesh

This is one of the places which showcases India’s beauty . The location has been featured in several Bollywood films. However, the place is usually avoided by visitors because of the active dacoits in the region.

This area has many regional dacoits. That’s why people and police suggest you to not go there. Although many Bollywood movies have been shooted in some of the laces in Chambal still it’s not safe to go there if you are a traveler . It is one of the most famous forbidden places in India.

Barren Islands, Andaman

Barren Island in Andaman and Nicobar is the home to the Barren volcano- the only active Volcano in India. The red-hot lava and smoke are always erupting from the mouth of the volcano. No one is allowed to go to this island but you can see it from a distance. This is due to safety reasons.

The island is uninhabited and secluded, with crystal clear ocean water surrounding it. It is home to species like rodents, birds, and flying foxes and has significantly less vegetation due to the volcanic eruptions.

This region is way too beautiful to even exist.

Silent Valley National Park, Kerala

Due to a recent Maoist attack at Silent Valley National Park in Kerala there has been a considerable decline in the tourist influx. The government has restricted the area and prohibited the entry of tourists in this area. No one can go there without approval from the authority.

The tropical evergreen forests of the national park is bestowed with unspoilt natural beauty. You will be amazed by the beauty of this place. This is one of the most stunning prohibited places in India.

Tura, Meghalaya

Tura is all about vibrant tribes, picturesque landscapes, gushing waterfalls, eerie limestone caves , and sadly enough, TERRORISM . This little town in Meghalaya has been the victim of some of the most notorious terrorist organizations of Northeast for quite some time now making it a dangerous place for travelers.
