Bollywood Movies That Were Made But Never Got Released

B ollywood is a big part of our lives. As an audience we get to create memories and get influenced by these movies. Bollywood gives us a lot of expectations from life because we all get connected to the movies in one or another way.

Actors and directors put a lot of effort, time, and money into movies and we respect their hard work and struggle behind the movies but sometimes the movies are not released. They are done with the production and even though the actors are high profile stars, trailers got released and it also got the brilliant script BUT some things are not meant to be .

So, here are the movies that were made but didn’t make their way to the silver screen .

Apna Paraya (1972)

Apna Paraya was the first time when Rekha and Amitabh Bachchan were supposed to be seen together on the silver screen. But at that time they were newcomers and there were no takers for gawky newcomers, paired them on screen for the first time. So they had to wait for four years for the film Do Anjaane.

Khuda Gawah (1978)

Amitabh Bachchan as a cowboy? The film didn't get beyond a few days of shooting but the producer re-used the name in 1992 film with Bachchan yet again in the lead role with Sridevi as co-actor.

Sarfarosh (1979)

Amitabh Bachchan starrer film and directed by Manmohan Desai was the hottest combo of the 1970s. Bachchan played a convict in the movie along with lots of talented actors like Rishi Kapoor, Parveen Babi, Shakti Kapoor, and Kader Khan. But the movie did not hit theatres due to some reasons which are unknown till now.

Alishaan (1988)

Alishaan was an Amitabh Bachhan starrer movie based on Scaramouche. But it was shelved after few weeks of the shooting as Amitabh Bachchan decided to take on the media by working along with Javed Akhtar on ‘Main Azaad Hoon’.

Bandhua (1989)

J.P. Dutta's first film with Amitabh Bachchan was about bonded laborers who never took off. It was produced by H.A. Nadiadwala and starred Waheeda Rehman and Pooja Bedi along with Big B, but the film didn't release due to reasons unknown.

Time Machine (1992)

The great and go-getting movie Time machine starred Aamir Khan, Raveena Tandon, and Naseeruddin Shah. This film was about the time travel. The movie was directed by Shekhar Kapur and almost 3/4th of the film was completed with proper editing and direction but it got shelved as the director Shekhar Kapur packed his bags for Hollywood.

Dus (1996)

"Dus" was a dream project of director Mukul Anand, starring Salman Khan, Sanjay Dutt, Raveena Tandon, and Shilpa Shetty. In this film both of them played Indian agents to prevent an Indo-Pak war. But premature death of director Mukul Anand left the film an unfinished and incomplete labor of love. Years later producer Nitin Manmohan released another film with the same title where Sanjay Dutt and Shilpa Shetty played the same role.

Ladies Only (1998)

Based on Jane Fonda's Nine to Five. Starring Randhir Kapoor who plays the role of lecherous boss whom his female employees conspire to murder. Producer Kamal Haasan has a deadly role as a corpse who did not get the film released but the film was Completed. Unfortunately, it was not released because kamal Haasan didn't get the price that he wanted.

Paanch ( 2001)

The banned movie of Bollywood film industry "Paanch " starring Kay Kay Menon, Aditya Srivastava, Vijay Maurya, Joy Fernandes, and Tejaswini Kolhapure. The crime thriller film was a debut directorial movie of Anurag Kashyap, but the film never got released due to censor board said on film violence, drug abuse, and foul language. The film was cleared after some cuts but never released. Though the linked copy is available online.

Jana Na Dil Se Door (2001)

Dev Anand with his brother Vijay (Goldie) to play a writer who never gets his due. "The film became an orphan," said Dev Anand. The film didn't release due to the death of his brother Vijay ( goldie ) before the releasing date.
