Tiger Shroff to join hands with Queen and Super 30 director Vikas Bahl for a two-part sports drama titled Ganpat
While it has been reported that the remake of Sylvester Stallone starrer Rambo featuring Tiger Shroff has been pushed ahead to the last quarter of 2021, the Heropanti actor has come on board for a two-part sports drama titled Ganpat, which will be directed by Super 30 and Queen helmer Vikas Bahl. The film is set in Mumbai, where Tiger will portray the character of an underdog boxer and is expected to go on floors post-pandemic.
According to the Mumbai Mirror report, a source close to the development said, “Ganpat is essentially a sports drama set in Mumbai with Tiger playing a boxer for the first time. Vikas has been working on the script for a while now and Tiger, who loves MMA, wrestling, and boxing was looking to do a film in this space. When Vikas narrated the script to him, it was an instant ‘yes’ from Tiger.” The source further added, “Ganpat will be a two-film franchise, tracing the journey of Ganpat from a Mumbai boy to a world-class boxer. Though it’s an action-packed film, at its core it’s an underdog story like Super 30, with an emotional father-son subplot. The search is on for a senior actor to play Tiger’s on-screen father.” The name of the character is named Ganpat as he will be seen as an ardent devotee of Lord Ganesha.

Sameera Reddy opens up on nepotism in Bollywood: I was replaced by a star kid
Nepotism’s existence in the industry has been a hot topic ever since Kangana Ranaut had called Karan Johar and flag-bearer of nepotism on his chat show, Koffee With Karan. The debate upturned into a nasty issue when Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead at his apartment in Mumbai. Kangana claimed that Sushant was boycotted by various Bollywood Mafias from films. A lot of people have since then opened up on the existence of nepotism, group-ism, lobby culture in the industry. Race actress Sameera Reddy also opened up on her brush with nepotism and favoritism. “I was replaced in three films and wasn’t given a proper reason. Once, they replaced me with a star kid and the other time, I got replaced because the actor was friendly with someone else,” the actress told Pinkvilla.
She went on to elaborate on how the makers couldn’t tell her that she had been replaced by a star kid in the film, belittling her instead. “I had signed this film and the producer called me to his office to tell me I’m not in it anymore. They said, ‘You dont have it in you’. I felt terrible and started doubting myself. I told my mother that maybe he is right, I am not made for films. But then, I was told by a well wisher that I was replaced by a starkid and that the producer didn’t have the guts to tell me the truth. I can’t tell you which film it was but it was very early on in my career.”
CBI for Sushant Singh Rajput: Investigation team to probe why the actor contacted a lawyer after ex-manager Disha Salian’s death
In another twist in the ongoing CBI inquiry into Sushant Singh Rajput’s death, it has come to light that the actor had got in touch with a lawyer, following the suicide of his ex-manager, Disha Salian, prior to his alleged suicide a week later. The report, which has appeared in Times Now, also claims that the late actor had contacted the lawyer the same day when his girlfriend, Rhea Chakraborty, had moved out of his home. Though the reason behind Sushant’s decision remains unclear, reports state that he had come across articles where his name had been mentioned with that of Disha’s, after which he deleted his hard disks with the help of flatmate Siddharth Pithani. Smelling something fishy, the CBI has decided to probe this angle, too.
