Ayushmann Khurrana extends support to his Badhaai Ho costar, Surekha Sikri, after she suffers a brain stroke; says, ‘Always with you’
Triple National-Award-winning actress Surekha Sikri, commonly known to today’s generation for her role in Badhaai, Ho, recently suffered a brain stroke and has been declared critical by hospital personnel where she has been admitted after they revealed that she isn’t responding well to treatment. Some staff members of the hospital also told ETimes that the actress has even been diagnosed with accumulation of fluid in the lungs and apart from that, her response to stimuli has not been up to the desired level. “The clot (developed due to the stroke) will have to be removed by medicines (thinners),” revealed the hospital staff.
Naturally, an outpouring of concern gushed from Surekha Sikri’s friends in Bollywood, with her Badhaai her costar, Ayushmann Khurana, being among the first to send his best wishes. Taking to his Instagram stories, the National-Award-winning actor shared a cute picture from their film and wrote: “Wish you a speedy recovery ma’am. Always with you.”

Shibani Dandekar and Ankita Lokhande’s spat on social media continues. Though they never directly targetted each other, their tweets and statements are known are for one another. It started when Ankita had put up a post on her social media handle on fate and karma after Rhea Chakraborty was arrested on Tuesday, 8th September 2020 in the drug link case. Sharing Rohini Singh’s tweet against patriarchy, Shibani Dhandekar had taken a sly dig at Sushant Singh Rajput’s former girlfriend Ankita Lokhande.
Ankita had responded to her tweet in an indirect manner and had given a strong reply. In her reply, the Pavitra Rishta actress had claimed that she never said that the late actor’s death is a murder or that anyone particular is responsible for it. “I again clarify, for the reason time and again being asked by the media to me on whether I feel it’s a murder or suicide? I have never said it’s a murder or anyone, in particular, is responsible. I always have encouraged justice for my late friend SSR and stood by the bereaved family and truth should be brought out by the investigating agencies. Being a Maharashtrian and an Indian citizen, I have total faith in the Maharashtra State Govt/Police & Central Government instrumentalities. Though when some lingos like “Sautan” and “widow” were used for me, which is in public knowledge. I never responded to it. I only came forward to narrate about SSR and his mental health till 2016,” Ankita had said in her statement/ post.

T-Series’ new song, Kandhe Ka Woh Til, has just dropped, and it’s a blueprint of how zero chemistry between the actors/dancers can completely ruin all the efforts put in by the musicians and lyricists. To be honest, Sachet Tandon’s vocals, Manan Bhardwaj’s music and the lyrics penned by Kumaar aren’t their best ever, but they’ve combined to deliver a perfectly pleasing melody to the ears, only to see their efforts ruined by Salman Yusuff Khan and Zaara Yesmin, whose chemistry is so painful to watch that it diverts all the attention away from the song. Of course, both are pretty good dancers the former has also won the reality show, Dance India Dance but that only goes to prove that good dancers alone cannot compensate for poor choreography (Saurabh Prajapati has equal blame to share) and a complete lack of ability to emote. It wouldn’t be a stretch to say that the romance goes for a toss between the two in a romantic track, and all we’re left with are two wooden-faced individuals performing plenty of shakes and shivers.

Recently, Rhea Chakraborty claimed that she did not attend Sushant Singh Rajput’s funeral as she was not invited for it, the late actor’s good friend, producer Sandip Ssingh has hit back at her, questioning if she has lost her mind, and wondering why she waited for an invitation since it “was not a birthday party or some mahurat or some or a film success party”. He has hit back at Rhea after she had questioned where he was from the past one-and-a-half years if he was truly such a good friend to Sushant.
Opening up to Pinkvilla, Sandip Ssingh said, “People who are saying I was not invited for the funeral of Sushant Singh Rajput they should really check their mind. It was not a birthday party or some mahurat or some or a film success party. It was a funeral. If you are Sushant’s friend, you were waiting for the invitation to come to you to come to the funeral? Have we lost our mind? Are we educated or we are not educated? Somebody invited me to Sushant’s house when I heard the news or I went on my own on a human ground?”
“Those people, after not even coming for the funeral are saying, ‘I was not invited. My name was not on the list.’ Yeh kya kissi bahut bade politician ya businessman ki shaadi ka list hai jo aapka guest list gate mein denge aur aapko tick kiya jaayega? Do you have to get ready? I can understand the emotion that you wanted to come but you can’t think, ‘Oh! My name was not there. Oh My God! I was not invited.’ How can you even think that,” he added.
Rhea Chakraborty moved to a separate prison cell due to security issues — read deets
Two days ago, the Narcotics Control Bureau arrested Rhea Chakraborty in the reported drug consumption/ sale/ purchase case. The actress was interrogated by the NCB officials for about three days before the arrest took place. Her brother, Showik Chakraborty has been into custody in the same link. Along with Rhea and Showik, Samuel Miranda, Dipesh Sawant, Zaid Vilatra and Abdul Basit Parihar are in judicial custody as well.
After her arrest on Tuesday, Rhea was taken for medical examination after which she was taken to Byculla Women’s jail. And now, as per the latest report, the Rhea Chakraborty has been shifted to a separate cell due to security issues. As per a report in Republic TV, Rhea is stationed in is similar to that of the main accused in the Sheena Bora murder case, Indrani Mukerjea.
Meanwhile, Rhea had retracted her confessions stating that she was coerced into making incriminatory claims. “There was not a single lady officer who interrogated the present applicant as mandated by law. The Hon’ble Supreme Court in the case of Sheela Barse VS State Maharashtra, has held that the interrogation of females should be carried out only in the presence of a female police officer/constable,” the bail plea application read. Rhea’s bail application has been rejected by the sessions court. She moved her plea to the special court whose hearing is scheduled for today.
