Arun Govil as Rama

Arun Govil played the role of Ram in the series. He is the lead role in the series and was the eldest son of Dasharatha and also husband of Sita. Ram went to exile with his wife Sita and brother Lakshman.

Sunil Lahri as Lakshman

Sunil Lahri played the role of Lakshman in the series. He was the younger brother of Ram and the son of Dasharath. He accompanied Ram and Sita and went with them to exile.

Arvind Trivedi as Ravan

Arvind Trivedi played the role of Ravan in the series. Ravan was the king of Lanka and is known to have abducted Sita. He was later killed by Lord Ram.

Arvind Trivedi is now 81 years old. has had a prolific career in the Gujarati cinema for over 40 years. In real life Arun Govil (RAM) and Arvind Trivedi (RAVAN) are good friends.

Dara Singh as Hanuman

Dara singh played the role of Hanuman in the series. His battle between Rama and Ravana is huge. He is the one who flies across the oceans , locates the exact place where Sita is imprisoned and brings this information back to Ram.

He died on 12 July 2012

Sanjay Jog as bharat

Sanjay Jog played the role of Bharat in the series, In the Ramayana Bharata, the second eldest son of Dasharatha and Kaikeyi and half-brother of Rama, served as the king of Ayodhya as a sage for the 14 years of Rama, Sita and Lakshman’s exile.

He died on 27 November 1995 due to liver failure

Sameer Rajda as Shatrughna

Sameer Rajda played the role of Shatrughna in the series. He is the youngest brother of Lord Ram.

Samir is a renowned name in the Gujrati Cinema. He was also a part of popular hindi Television show on Star Plus titled Hamari Devrani. He has also appeared in various Gujarati shows as well such. After Ramayan he was seen in yet another mythological show Luv Kush.

Shyamsundar Kaalaani as Sugriv

Shyamsundar Kaalaani played the role of Sugriv in the Series. As king of the monkeys, Sugriva aided Rama in his quest to liberate his wife Sita from captivity at the hands of the Rakshasa king Ravan.

He died on 26 march 2020 due to cancer.

Arun Govil took to his Twitter account and mourned the demise of fellow actor Shyamsundar Kaalaani.

Vijay Arora as Indrajit Meghnad

Vijay Arora played the role of Meghnad in the series. He played an active role in the great war between Rama and Ravana. He is considered as one of the Atimaharathi class warriors born on the earth as told in the Ramayana.

Vijay Arora died of stomach cancer on 2 February 2007.

Bal Dhuri as Dasharath

Bal dhuri played the role of Dashrath in the series. Dasaratha is the emperor of Kosala and Rama’s father.

Dasharath had three queen namely, Kaushalya, Sumitra and Kaikeyi. Kaushalya was from the Kingdom of Magadha.

Bal Dhuri is a Marathi theatre actor. He married Jayshree Gadkar, the noted Marathi and Hindi movie actress. He is best known for his multiple roles in Marathi movies

Jayshree Gadkar played the role of Kaushalya in the series. Kausalya give birth Rama. She was the eldest consort of King Dasharatha among his three wives, the mother of Lord Rama and the eldest queen of Ayodhya.

Jayshri Gadkar died at the age of 66 in 2008, she was married to Bal Dhuri who played the role of Dashrath.
