Rules are rules, right? So, Does that means there are two laws for Lockdown, one is meant for VIP’s and one for the others? With strict lockdown rules in place, thousands of events and celebrations have been postponed by people in India. But, it looks like VIPs still want privileges when the whole nation is under lockdown. Even among those going against the rules, it seems that action is taken only against the ordinary citizens and not the VIPs.
Ex K’taka CM’s Son Gets Married Without Hassal, Gujarat Couple Arrested
The unprecedented challenge before the country in the form of coronavirus and the strict lockdown imposed nationwide appears to have had little impact on former Karnataka chief minister and Janata Dal leader HD Kumaraswamy.
The grand marriage ceremony of Nikhil on Thursday comes in complete disregard to the Centre’s ban on all gatherings — social, political, sports, religious — without permission and only within restrictions.
- As per reports, as many as 100 VIP guests turned up at the event.
- . Pictures of the ceremony show that all the traditions were followed in the presence of the family and relatives of both sides.
- No social distancing norms were followed during the rituals.
- None of the attendees were seen wearing masks or covering their face in any form to avoid the possible transmission of disease during the rituals.
This was highlighted today when on one hand, former Karnataka CM’s son comfortably tied the knot in a VIP wedding, another couple was arrested in Navsari, Gujarat for tying the knot amid a nationwide lockdown.
It is to be noted that while lockdown rules were defied by both parties, only one faced legal action.

DHFL Promoters-Wadhwan Brothers Vacationing amid Lockdown
Wadhawan’s including 21 other family members were vacationing in the Mahabaleshwar farmhouse in violation of COVID-19 related curfew norms. They have been detained in Mahabaleshwar as they were found violating section 144.
It is sad to see VIP culture winning over everything else at a time when we need to take social distancing and other lockdown rules seriously. I’m sure coronavirus doesn’t spare even the VIPs. What do you say; do rules apply only to ordinary citizens and not to VIPs?
