New Bollywood Movies That Are Releasing On Disney+Hotstar

The onset of COVID-19 has introduced us to a new normal. The fashion, food, travel and entertainment industries, suffered a major hit. The world's changed reality accommodated no shopping sprees at malls, no family meals at restaurants, and definitely no theatre releases.

Amidst all this, Disney+Hotstar, the streaming company of the Star network, has announced to launch a new section on its platform that will launch stream of Bollywood movies.

The online platform has taken direct to digital film releases one step forward. The company has stated that it has made this move to give the already home-stranded people a chance to look forward to new cheering ups.

So folks, it's time to update your film calendars as seven Bollywood films are set to release on Disney+Hotstar soon. These brand new films will soon be available on your home screens, so you don't have to wait to watch them till we bid the pandemic adieu.

Dil Bechara

Dil Bechara will be the first movie to premiere on Disney+ Hotstar.

This coming-of-age romantic drama is the Hindi adaptation of “The Fault In Our Stars (2014)” , which is further based on the John Green novel by the same name. Dil Bechara is a 2020 Bollywood romance-drama, directed by Mukesh Chhabra. The movie stars Sushant Singh Rajput and Sanjana Sanghi in the lead roles and Saif Ali Khan also makes an appearance as a supporting actor.

The film revolves around the love story about two cancer patients . Kizie Basu (Sanjana Sanghi) and Immanuel Rajkumar Junior aka Manny (Sushant Singh Rajput) explores the funny, thrilling and tragic adventure of being alive and in love. This is now available to watch for free on Disney+ Hotstar from July 24.

The company said, “In a bid to “commemorate his invaluable contribution to Hindi cinema,” this movie will be available to non-subscribers of Disney+ Hotstar as well.

However, TV producer and Bigg Boss finalist Vikas Guppta put the sentiment of Sushant Singh Rajput fans in words requesting the makers of Dil Bechara to show it in theatres as this would be his last film and it will be heartbreaking for it not to be seen in theatres.

Sadak 2

Sadak- The Road to Love

Starring Alia Bhatt, Sanjay Dutt, Aditya Roy Kapoor and Pooja Bhatt, this new project is the sequel to the 1991 film Sadak, and starts where the previous one left off.

Sadak 2 is about love, loss and redemption. Alia’s character sets out to unmask a godman in the film. Alia’s character is out to expose a fake guru who runs an ashram.

Ravi Verma (Dutt), who suffers from depression , helps a young girl named Shreya (Bhatt) unmask a fake guru , and realises that she has become a critical part of his life along the way. The film takes forward the story of Ravi and Pooja and she will be a new addition to the story along with Aditya.

Laxmmi Bomb

A remake of the Tamil film Muni 2: Kanchana (2011), Laxmmi Bomb is a comedy-horror drama that promises jump-scares and laughter in equal measure.

The movie stars Akshay Kumar, Kiara Advani and Tusshar Kapoor.

The film deals with a ghost seeking vengeance for being wronged and haunts everyone who is staying in the house. It is centred around a ghost who is seeking revenge for being wronged by its family. The film revolved around a couple of vengeful ghosts who haunt an innocent man to get justice for their murders.

Akshay Kumar’s look features a red sari and a big bindi. He is standing in front of Goddess Durga's idol, and seems extremely intimidating.

Bhuj: The Pride of India

This Ajay Devgn and Sanjay Dutt-starrer is set against the backdrop of the 1971 war. Sonakshi Sinha and Parineeti Chopra will also be seen playing pivotal roles in the gripping action-war drama, set to release soon online.

The film promises to present a peek inside one of the most important events in the country's political history. Bhuj the pride of India is a story about 300 gujrati women who helped the Indian Airforce during Bangladesh and Pakistan War

During the 1971 Indo-Pak war, the IAF airstrip at Bhuj was destroyed in combat. Subsequently, 300 local women led by IAF squadron leader Vijay Karnik heroically toiled day in and day out to reconstruct the airbase. This act of resilience was a pivotal moment which not only boosted the morale of the country, but also helped us win the war. The film is a tribute to the unparalleled bravado displayed not only by IAF, but the civilians as well.

The Big Bull

Starring Abhishek Bachchan, Ileana D'Cruz and Nikita Dutta, The Big Bull is a biographical crime drama based on stockbroker Harshad Mehta's life. The gripping plot spotlights his financial crimes, which spanned over a decade.

Loosely based on the life of Harshad Mehta and his financial crimes, The Big Bull is a story based on real events of the financial market that took place between the years 1990 and 2000.

It is a Bollywood drama, helmed by Kookie Gulati. The movie star Abhishek Bachchan, Ileana D’Cruz and Ajay Devgn in the lead roles. The movie is produced by Ajay Devgn and Anand Pandit. The Big Bull depicts the story of a man who sold dreams to India.

In the poster, Abhishek bore an uncanny resemblance to a businessman as he is seen engrossed in deep thinking. The poster read, “The man who sold dreams to India”.

Khuda Haafiz

hudha Haafiz is another film that is soon to be out on a digital platform. The plot of the romantic thriller is loosely based on a real love story, and set in multiple locations across Uzbekistan, Morocco and Kerala. The movie features Vidyut Jammwal and Shivaleeka Oberoi as the protagonists.

Khuda Haafiz is an upcoming 2020 Bollywood romantic action-thriller movie which is directed by Faruk Kabir. The movie is produced by Kumar Mangat Pathak and Abhishek Pathak under the banner of Panorama Studios. The story of the movie is inspired by some real-life incidents.

With incidents based on actual events, this could be one of the biggest and most memorable action thrillers of our time.

Lootcase

With a multi-star cast, this comedy-drama tells the story of a middle-aged man who stumbles upon a red suitcase full of money, and the adventures that follow. Lootcase is now all set to take over smaller screens. However, the date of the drop, is yet to be announced.

The movie follows, Nandan Kumar (Kemmu) an average Joe, whose life changes after he comes across a suitcase full of cash. While he believes the money will solve all his problems, there are people on the lookout for the suitcase, like a gangster named Bala Rathore (Vijay Raaz), Member of Legislative Assembly Patil (Gajraj Rao), and Inspector Kotle (Ranvir Shorey).

While, Nandan Kumar knows nothing about who it belongs to , where it's from, or how it got there. Nandan has to decide whether or not to take it or leave it.

How will this affect Movie Theatres?

Over-the-top (OTT) platform Disney+ Hotstar said that it is set to premiere seven Bollywood movies, in a move that could intensify the battle between theatre owners and video streaming applications over movie releases.

As theatres are shut across the country, Hindi films have chosen to go for a digital release. This has led theatre chains like Inox and PVR to express their disappointment towards producers who circumvented theatrical exhibition and opt for online streaming release.

Multiplexes have been miffed with movie producers for not holding back their movie releases to honour the exclusive theatrical window of eight weeks and instead directly going to streaming platforms.

Producers Guild of India had said in a statement last month, "Producers who have already invested heavily in their films with theatrical revenue assumptions that are no longer feasible, will seek out all avenues available to recover their investment and to stay in business".

Besides the above stated movies, Vidya Balan's Shakuntala Devi biopic and Janhvi Kapoor's Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl, are slated to release on Amazon Prime and Netflix, respectively.

However, until we bid adieu to the pandemic, you should accept digital release as a part of new normal and the best part about this is that the show time will be your own, food can be of of your own choice.
