The onset of COVID-19 has introduced us to a new normal. The fashion, food, travel and entertainment industries, suffered a major hit. The world’s changed reality accommodated no shopping sprees at malls, no family meals at restaurants, and definitely no theatre releases.
Amidst all this, Disney+Hotstar, the streaming company of the Star network, has announced to launch a new section on its platform that will launch stream of Bollywood movies.
The online platform has taken direct to digital film releases one step forward. The company has stated that it has made this move to give the already home-stranded people a chance to look forward to new cheering ups.
So folks, it’s time to update your film calendars as seven Bollywood films are set to release on Disney+Hotstar soon. These brand new films will soon be available on your home screens, so you don’t have to wait to watch them till we bid the pandemic adieu.
Dil Bechara
Dil Bechara will be the first movie to premiere on Disney+ Hotstar.
This coming-of-age romantic drama is the Hindi adaptation of “The Fault In Our Stars (2014)”, which is further based on the John Green novel by the same name. Dil Bechara is a 2020 Bollywood romance-drama, directed by Mukesh Chhabra. The movie stars Sushant Singh Rajput and Sanjana Sanghi in the lead roles and Saif Ali Khan also makes an appearance as a supporting actor.
The film revolves around the love story about two cancer patients. Kizie Basu (Sanjana Sanghi) and Immanuel Rajkumar Junior aka Manny (Sushant Singh Rajput) explores the funny, thrilling and tragic adventure of being alive and in love. This is now available to watch for free on Disney+ Hotstar from July 24.
The company said, “In a bid to “commemorate his invaluable contribution to Hindi cinema,” this movie will be available to non-subscribers of Disney+ Hotstar as well.
However, TV producer and Bigg Boss finalist Vikas Guppta put the sentiment of Sushant Singh Rajput fans in words requesting the makers of Dil Bechara to show it in theatres as this would be his last film and it will be heartbreaking for it not to be seen in theatres.
